"The Corelli School is to take all steps to develop excellence in the performing and visual arts, combined with academic achievement, in a select group of young people."

Students will be prepared for examinations in the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus and/or the N.Z.A.M.D. (New Zealand Association of Modern Dance) syllabus. The Royal Academy of Dance is internationally recognized and acclaimed for high standards of training and developing young dancers.
The Corelli School will also afford the opportunity to develop an understanding of other recognized methods of training such as Vagonava, Checcetti and Bourneville, to enable students to be versatile and adaptable performers. The focus is on training dancers to be able to adapt and meet the challenging demands of dance internationally.
The Corelli School has international dance teachers in residence from around the world, who teach in the department. As a global school, we understand the need to be aware of an international standard. One of the amazing teachers who will be sharing his skills in 2009 is Jason Coleman.

The New Zealand School of Dance in Wellington has this to say about the required entry level standard at tertiary level:
"We are looking for dancers who have had considerable performing experience combined with a passion for being on stage and good technique."
If Corelli School can provide this, plus the added benefit of established examinations, then the students who graduate from Corelli will stand a fighting chance of entering into a dance career, at the same standard as graduates from dedicated schools overseas.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact the school office.
