As with all other Private Schools, Corelli has a NO REFUND policy for overseas students; unless in extenuating circumstances. Your visa is issued on the proviso that you attend The Corelli School, only.
ESOL classes are provided free of charge to all overseas students who are deemed, after assessment, to require such lessons to improve their level of spoken and written English. Students from Year 9 – 12 are expected to have an English Reading Age of at least 9 upon entry, determined by various assessments. (Holborn Reading Scale, Burt Word Test and Running Records based on age appropriate material from the Journal library.)
Students younger than Year 9 must have had some introduction to the English language, so that by the time they reach year 9, all ESOL students will have reached a 9 year-old reading age, at least.
The school has a database of parents who are willing to offer new students homestay accommodation (from year 7-13). Prices vary, but generally homestay accommodation is around $NZ$200.00 per week. Year 1-6 pupils are required to be domiciled with their parents.
Please advise if you require contacts for accommodation.
Medical and Travel Insurance is compulsory for the duration of the student's stay in New Zealand.
