The Corelli School places importance on academic achievement in all curriculum areas.
To develop skills and understanding in practical tasks, real-life problems and mathematical investigations. Areas of attainment include: Using and applying Mathematics - Number - Algebra - Shape and Space - Handling Data
To develop the ability to plan, hypothesise and predict; design and carry out investigations; interpret results and findings; draw inferences and communicate exploratory tasks and experiments.
To develop an understanding and awareness of historical and geographical influences on Past and Present Peoples and their cultures.
(In addition to specific Corelli first and second instrument studies, harmony, aural, choir, chamber music, and orchestral programmes of study). To involve pupils in the active and creative process of performing, composing, listening to, and appraising music in ways that promote individual growth and development.
To encourage resourcefulness and ingenuity, and to develop skills related to planning, application, and construction, leading to appraisal of a finished product where appropriate.
